And Forgive Us Our Sins
Lord, you are light, and there is no darkness
in you at all. Your Word says that if we claim to have fellowship with you, but walk
in the darkness, then we lie and do not live by your truth. But if we walk in the
light, as you are in the light, then we do have fellowship with you, and with your
Body, and then the blood of Jesus, your Son, will purify us from all sin.
If
I say that I am not a sinner, I am only fooling myself, and therefore prove that
your truth is not in me. However, if I confess my sins, then you are faithful and
just and will forgive me of those sins and will purify me from all unrighteousness.
(1st John 1:5-9)
Lord, I confess that I am a sinner. I was born into sin when
I came into this world, and there are temptations and sins that clutch at me to pull
me down, and in truth, sometimes I am caught by them, and I fall.
I ask that
when I do fall, that you would not leave me there, but would lift me up and set my
feet on a firm foundation, and forgive me from the sin that bound me, washing away
my transgressions in the blood of Jesus Christ.
(List your weaknesses, and ask
the Lord to forgive you of giving in to them, and to strengthen you so that you would
be able to stand against them.)

Lord God, you know my weakness with (Weakness #1), and how it reaches for me and
entices me to do evil in your sight. I pray that you would give me the strength to
stand against this spirit, and to overcome, for my flesh is weak and unable to resist
it by myself.
You promised us in your Word that when we are weak, that is when
you are made strong, and that prayer will bring us into your perfection. (2nd Corinthians
13:9)
I bind the spirit of (Weakness #1), and I rebuke you in the name of
Jesus Christ. You have no hold on me! You have no right to my life, for I have been
bought by the blood of Jesus! Let me go! My body and my spirit are His, and you have
no claim to them! (1st Corinthians 6:20)
I do not serve you any longer, for I
am now the Lord's servant! (1st Corinthians 7:22,23)
Lord, I loose the spirit
of (spirit that can aid you) into my life, so that my house will not just be swept
and cleaned of unrighteousness, but that it would be filled with holiness, so that
unrighteousness would not be able to return and take up residence in me again. (Luke
11:24-26)
I pray, father, that you would send (mighty/guardian/ministering) angels
to come and build a protective wall around me and protect me from these spirits of
(Weakness #1). I pray that you would send them with your blessing, that they may
have the power to defeat these spirits of unrighteousness in my life.
I thank
you, father, for your care and your protection, and by faith I thank you for the
victory over this (Weakness #1) in my life.
I desire to live for you, and to serve
you, and for you to be pleased with me, father. Lead and guide me in the paths of
righteousness for the sake of your name and your kingdom, (Psalms 23:3) that I may
be found worthy of a crown of righteousness, (2nd Timothy 4:8), and live in the house
of the Lord forever. (Psalms 23:6)
(Repeat this for the rest of your weaknesses.)
Lead
Us Not Into Temptation, But Deliver Us
Lord, that I might be able to stand
against temptation and the deception of the evil one, I ask that you would protect
my mind from evil thoughts of temptation and unrighteousness, for to be worldly-minded
is to die in my sins, but to be spiritually-minded is to receive life and peace.
(Romans 8:6)
I ask that you would place the mind that was in Christ Jesus, also
in me, (Philippians 2:5) for if my mind is on you, you have promised to keep me in
perfect peace. (Isaiah 26:3)
Please keep my mind focussed only on you, and let
me think righteously. Allow me to see things through your eyes, father, to see things
the way that you see them.
I also pray that you would keep my heart right.
Help me to plant myself in righteousness, and to receive your mercy as a harvest.
Mold me after your pattern of holiness, and use me for your kingdom. Draw my heart
close to you, that I would seek your face until you come and rain righteousness upon
me, dear Lord. (Hosea 10:12)
Please filter everything that comes into or out of
my heart, through your righteousness. I know that there is no one righteous but you,
my father. Let me be easily influenced by your Spirit, and to be able to quickly
recognize your voice when you speak to my heart.
Wrap your truth around me
like a sash, and through your truth, keep me from lies and from errors.
Keep me
from loving you in word, only, but rather help me to love you through my actions
and with my life. (1st John 3:18)
Please guide my feet into the paths that
you would have me to go, and guard them as they travel. Place them on the firm rock
of your salvation, far from the pit of mud and clay.
Help me to deliver your light
to those who are wandering in darkness, and in the shadow of death, and guide me
in the way of peace.
Help me to always be prepared to testify of your gospel,
and your love and power to everyone who asks me about you, and help me to speak with
kindness and gentleness. (1st Peter 3:15)
Give me the words to say, so that
my message and my preaching will cause people to put their faith in your power, based
on the demonstration of your Holy Spirit, and not in any wise or persuasive words
that I might use. (1st Corinthians 2:4,5)
Increase my faith so that all of
the fiery arrows of the enemy would be doused and deflected, and help me when I do
not understand. Teach me to obey your words, even when I do not understand the reason
for them.
Lord, you are the author and the finisher of my faith, (Hebrews 12:2)
which means you not only began a good work in me, but that you are faithful to complete
it, as well. (Philippians 1:6)
Let my faith come from you, for you are faithful,
and help me to correctly use the mustard seed of faith that I do have, for you have
given to every person a measure of faith, as your Word says. (Romans 12:3)
I
pray that you would place your Holy Spirit within me, that you would live inside
me, and cause your laws to be written onto my heart and your name onto my forehead.
Anoint
your Word in my hands and in my heart. Let your Spirit work through me, and use me
for your kingdom, Lord. Let me be a vessel that you can use, and a channel that your
Word can flow through.
Use me however you want to, father, for I am willing to
be used of you.
Fortify my mind and heart against evil, clothe me in faith
and truth, supply me with boldness to preach your Word, and place within me the power
of your Spirit, so that strengthened in this way, I may be able to resist temptation
and order the devil to flee by the authority of your name.
Forgive Others
So That We May Find Forgiveness
Forgive me of my sins, father, and help me
to always forgive others when they do wrong to me.
Help me to bear persecution
gladly for your name, for as you were persecuted and hated, so also will I be.
Help
me to love my enemies, to do good to those who maliciously use me, and to pray for
those who curse me and intend to do me harm. (Luke 6:27,28)
Help me to be joyful
and thankful in all circumstances, whether they be good or whether they be bad, (1st
Thessalonians 5:16,18) and I thank you for the other Christian believers that minister
to me and bring me before your throne in prayer. I thank you for the love that they
have for all the believers, and for the faith and love that they have which comes
from their hope of eternal life in heaven. I thank you for the truth they have heard,
and for the gospel that has come to them.
I pray that they would bear fruit and
grow strong in your Spirit, just as your gospel is also bearing fruit and growing.
I pray that they would understand your grace in all it's truth. (Colossians 1:5,6)
I
pray that your saints would be counted worthy of your calling, and that you will
equip them to do good works. I pray that you would fulfill every good purpose and
act of faith that they make in your name, father. (2nd Thessalonians 1:11)
I pray
that your Church will glorify the name of Jesus, and that they in turn, will be glorified
by you. (2nd Thessalonians 1:12)
I pray that your gospel will spread, (2nd Thessalonians
3:1) and that your saints who have been taken from us and placed in prisons throughout
this earth would soon be restored to us. (Hebrews 13:19)
Deliver us from evil
and help us in our time of need, father. (James 5:13)
Give us good health and
the blessings of heaven, (3rd John 2) and I pray for the sick among us to be healed.
(James 5:14)
Give us wisdom (Ephesians 1:18) and strength and power, and let us
always be filled with your love. (Ephesians 3:16-19)
Give us your words to speak
to others on your behalf, and help us not to be ashamed of you. (Ephesians 6:19,20)
Bring
your saints to full maturity (Colossians 1:9-12) and open doors for us to minister
to others and to declare the saving power of your blood to the world. (Romans 1:9,10;
Colossians 4:3)
Keep your people from falling, Lord, and send your angels to keep
them from shattering upon the stones of the chasm. (2nd Corinthians 13:7; Psalms
91:11,12)
Help us to raise up our children in the way of truth, so that when they
are older they will not leave the paths of righteousness. (Proverbs 22:6)
Protect
the little children in this world, Lord, and keep them from harm and destruction.
You love the little children, Lord, and have told us that we can learn from them;
that we need to have a heart that is as pure and trusting as these little ones. Send
your angels to guard them in the nations of military unrest, and to keep them from
those who would seek to destroy these little ones. (Matthew 19:13)
Keep falsehood
and lies far from me, and give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my
daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the Lord?'
Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor your name. (Proverbs 30:8,9)
I
pray that when the day of persecution comes, father, that it does not come in winter,
nor on the Sabbath, so that our brothers in Israel may be able to flee.
Finally,
my father, I pray that your Spirit would be alive and at work in me, and that you
would use me to speak to your Church. Allow me to speak with the language of angels,
and also provide me with the interpretation, dear Lord, that your saints may be instructed,
and encouraged, and restored. (1st Corinthians 14:13)
Help us to be clear-minded
and self-controlled when we pray, (1st Peter 4:7) and to pray in the power of your
Spirit. (Jude 20)
Put your blessing upon my life, and instruct me even more
excellently in the way of righteousness. Go with me as I travel along the road, and
while I am at work, and in my home, and cause others to see you through me, that
your name would receive much honor, and much glory, and that salvation may come to
the house of another, through your humble servant, whom you have seen fit to call
a Son/Daughter.
I love you, Lord.
In the Matchless Name of Jesus Christ,
I ask for these things.
Amen.
I pray that this Prayer
Manual has been a blessing to you! Pray without ceasing, for this is the will of
God! (1st Thessalonians 5:17)
In Christ,
Chad J. McCoy
